Blog Homepage > Cornmarket raises €10,000 for the Peter McVerry Trust
Giving back to our local community and charities is an important part of life at Cornmarket.Every two years, our staff select a charity for our company to support through a range of fundraising and volunteering initiatives.
In 2017, the Peter McVerry Trust was selected as our charity of choice. The charity, set up by Fr Peter Mc Verry, aims to reduce homelessness and the harm caused by drug misuse and social disadvantage. It provides low-threshold entry services, to younger people and vulnerable adults, and offers pathways out of homelessness.
Since early 2017 we’ve run a number of fun and successful events to raise funds for the Peter McVerry Trust, these included: the Cornmarket bake off, Jersey day & the many Christmas fundraising activities, as well as our recent St Patricks day fundraiser.
So far we have raised over €10,000 through fundraising efforts and will continue to raise money throughout 2018! A huge thanks to our charity committee and amazing staff for their outstanding participation, this would not be possible without you!
