We are delighted to announce the recent acquisition of Marsh Ireland’s personal insurance business, a strategic move in support of our ambitious growth agenda.
Cornmarket currently works with over 40 public sector trade unions, associations and employers to negotiate tailored, preferential financial products and services on their behalf. The acquisition supports Cornmarket’s long-term growth strategy by expanding our presence in both the public sector and personal insurance sector. It enhances our ability to serve its existing 240,000 public sector customers, as well as broadening our customer base across Ireland.
Through this acquisition, Cornmarket will integrate Marsh Ireland’s personal insurance portfolio, which includes motor, home, travel and van insurance. As part of the transition, Marsh’s existing personal insurance customers have become Cornmarket policy holders.
The acquisition increases Cornmarket’s workforce to over 500 employees throughout Ireland and the UK. Following the acquisitions of Penpro, EIS Financial Services, and K.D. Retirement Services Ltd, the deal significantly strengthens Cornmarket’s position as one of Ireland’s leading financial services’ brokers, while enabling continued growth in the public sector and the wider consumer insurance market.
Ivan Ahern, Managing Director at Cornmarket, commented: “This acquisition represents a key milestone in our strategy to scale and diversify our business. By welcoming Marsh’s public sector and personal insurance customers into the Cornmarket family, we are not only expanding our reach but also enhancing the depth of service we can offer. This deal underlines our commitment to growth through value-driven partnerships and reinforces our commitment to providing trusted, tailored financial solutions to individuals across Ireland.”
With over 50 years of experience in the Irish insurance market, Marsh Ireland’s clients will now join a Cornmarket network of over 240,000 customers and 430,000 policies.
