Comprehensive Cover

In addition to the cover provided under Third Party Fire & Theft, Comprehensive cover gives you extra protection if your car is accidentally damaged. Excess: €300 - the amount of any Excess will be reduced by €150 provided that the loss or damage to the Insured Vehicle is repaired by a repairer recommended by Allianz.

Third Party Fire & Theft Cover

This cover protects you in the event of fire, theft or attempted theft and covers you for claims made against you by other people for personal injury or damage to their property. Excess: €0

Exceptional Benefits

Protected No Claims Discount Max 4 Life

Allows unlimited claims irrespective of total claims size with no effect on your No Claims Discount. This cover incurs an extra charge.

Protected No Claims Discount – Our Standard Cover

Allows you to have 2 unlimited claims in a 3-year period (Claims for Windscreen/Fire/Theft will not affect this protection). This cover is standard and does not incur an additional charge.

Pre-Accident Value Top Up

If your Insured Vehicle is lost or in Insurer's opinion damaged beyond economical repair and between 12- and 72-months old, the insurer will pay an amount in addition to the pre-accident value

New Car Replacement

If your Insured Vehicle is lost or in Insurer's opinion damaged beyond economical repair within 12 months of its first registration as new Insurers will replace the vehicle with a new vehicle of the same model and manufacture subject to availability.

Comprehensive Driving Other Cars extension

Automatic comprehensive cover  when driving other cars (some restrictions apply). So, you can get behind the wheel whenever you need to!

Existing Customers - How to make a claim

Who to contact

We hope it never happens, but in the event that you need to make a claim, simply contact Allianz on (01) 613 3990. Here’s how it works:

  • Allianz have a dedicated 24 hours claims service
  • They will record the incident details and arrange for a Motor Assessor to assess the damages to your vehicle
  • When the engineer’s report is received, Allianz will contact you with the next stage of your claim
  • On confirmation of cover, Allianz will provide you with an offer and proceed with settlement of your claim.

What is an excess?

An excess is the amount you must pay as part of the claim settlement. This amount will be shown on your Schedule and is deducted from your total claim.

What excess do I pay in the event of a claim?

  • Accidental Damage/Comprehensive: €300
  • Third Party: €0
  • Fire: €0
  • Windscreen: €0
  • Theft: €0
  • Death Liability: €0

(€150 will be deducted if necessary repair work is completed by an Allianz approved repairer)

Windscreen Cover

All policies on the ESB Insurance Scheme have unlimited windscreen cover.

Call Autoglass/Allglass on 01 4090900 or Mr Windscreen 0818 512345 and they will replace or repair your windscreen and bill Allianz directly.

24-hour accident, emergency & breakdown recovery service

No benefit is able unless the service provider has been notified and has authorised assistance via the emergency telephone number provided. The Insured or Driver must be with the vehicle when the repairer arrives.

Breakdown Assistance and Repair

This includes:

  • Roadside: One-hour free labour at the roadside if the vehicle can be repaired in situ and, if not, at the repairer's premises.
  • Homestart: Somebody to assist you in the event of a breakdown at your home.
  • Towage: Towing the vehicle to the nearest competent repairer or to a garage of your choice, whichever is closer. Towing of your vehicle to the nearest petrol station, or your electric vehicle to the nearest electric vehicle charge point, or your home charge point, whichever is closest
  • Cost of public transportation: In the event of the vehicle being repaired, the cost of public transportation will be allowed in order for you to collect your vehicle.
