One-to-one support

Let's Talk About It - Support Services

One-to-one support for INMO members

Voicing our own thoughts or feelings can help us understand them better. If you feel talking it through with someone could be helpful for you, one-to-one is a great option to get support. There are different options available, such as INMO's 24hr Counselling Phone Line, a 24/7 text service via Text About It or one-to-one counselling through your Employee Assistance Programme.

The INMO 24hr Counselling Help Line is a FREE and confidential counselling service for you and any member of your immediate family who permanently lives with you. 50808 Text About It for INMO members

50808 is a first of its kind for Ireland - a free 24/7 text service, providing everything from a calming chat to immediate support for people going through a mental health or emotional crisis - big or small.

Free text INMO to 50808 to start a conversation, any time - day or night.

Many people who are going through difficulty don’t feel comfortable speaking to someone over the phone. In addition, there are many situations where someone may not have the privacy or a discreet environment in which to talk over the phone.

How it Works

50808 trained Crisis Volunteers are available 24/7 for anonymous text conversations. The aim is to provide immediate support in the short term and connect people to resources that will help them into the future.

The 50808 platform will connect texters with a Crisis Volunteer, who is most likely at home, who has been trained to listen, reassure and guide people from a hot moment to a cool calm.

All conversations are anonymous, unless the texter wants to give their name, and are reviewed in real time by a team of qualified staff supervisors who will support volunteers to listen to and support texters.

What can I text about?

From breakups or bullying, to anxiety, depression and suicidal feelings, Text About It Crisis Volunteers are available 24/7 for anonymous text conversations. Their aim is to provide immediate support in the short term and connect people to resources that will help them in the future.
