What do you enjoy about working in Cornmarket?
I enjoy working in Cornmarket for a lot of reasons, but the people are a big part of it. I have made some lifelong friends here and do not take that for granted. There is a place for everyone and people are accepted for who they are. There is a mutual respect among us all, regardless of our role in the company. For me, this is so important because you spend so much of your life working. Cornmarket makes me feel like I belong, and I am respected.
What does your typical day look like?
A typical day for me starts off with issuing sales leads to the Health Insurance Advisors. I make a lot of calls in the morning to clients surrounding health Insurance queries and if the phone lines are calm, I turn my attention to my daily administration tasks. After lunch I usually take my inbound calls and most days, I will reach my target as this is a target driven role. If I don’t make my target, I don’t get too worried, as it generally balances out over the week and there is usually an incentive or two each month to help bridge the gap. I also listen to, and quality check calls for other agents on the team which I really enjoy. It is a great experience for me and breaks up the week.
What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead in Cornmarket?
In the next year I look forward to gaining more experience in the quality side of things and complete my final few exams to get my QFA qualification. Having this qualification will open more doors for me down the line as my career continues to grow. As the company has so many roles on the financial services side of things as well as insurance, it will be great to have my exams behind me as it will only help my progression here and there is always opportunities for progression working at Cornmarket.
