Tell us about your story as a Recruiter?

I am originally from Galway and moved to Vancouver to begin my career as a Human Resources Administrator. After an amazing two and a half years away, I moved back to Dublin and held various recruitment roles in tech companies Workday and Facebook. I accepted a Talent Acquisition Specialist role at Cornmarket in February 2019, with the expectation of adding diversity and development to my career. My role here has completely exceeded my expectations. What I love most about my job is the people that I work with and having  the freedom to create a way of working that works best for me.

 

What does a typical day look like for you at work? 

My role is all encompassing and no two days are the same. I look after everything recruitment; from seeking approval for new roles, writing job specifications, sourcing and scheduling candidates for interviews, phone screening, interviewing, drafting contracts of employments and creating employee files.

 

What’s the most exciting part of your job?

I get a buzz from helping people secure the job they want and deserve. It gives me great satisfaction to know that I am helping people further their career goals.

 

Advice to candidates coming to interview?

My best advice to anyone interviewing is to sell yourself and be yourself! Our hiring managers are excited to get to know you as well as your accomplishments.
