Cornmarket administers the Scheme on behalf of the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) and the Scheme is underwritten by New Ireland.

Submitting a claim

Opening a claim

  1. Local Authority notifies SPSclaims@cornmarket.ie
  2. Cornmarket sends forms to the Estate and Local Authority
  3. Both the Estate & Local Authority completes and returns the claim forms, and other relevant documentation to Cornmarket.

Claims decisions

  1. New Ireland Assurance will make decision on the claim and update the Local Authority and Cornmarket.
  2. Cornmarket will update and advise the Estate and Local Authority.

Additional documents required

Disability Benefit Claims

As well as the items mentioned on the claim form e.g. under the Mortgage Details Section and Medical Details Section, New Ireland will require:

  • Copy of photo ID e.g. driver's licence or passport
  • Proof of address in the form of a utility bill/ bank statement (dated within last 6 months)
Life Cover Claims

New Ireland will require:

  • A copy of birth certificate (or passport or driver’s license)
  • A copy of death certificate
  • A copy of marriage certificate where appropriate
