Mindfulness

Mindfulness

We’re always hearing about mindfulness. But what does it really mean? It’s often defined as the psychological process of focusing your attention on what’s happening in the present moment. It’s something that can be developed and focused by meditation training – or even just a few minutes of 'me-time' once in a while.

We get so focused on what’s coming towards us, we don’t take time to appreciate the wonder of now. You should never underestimate the importance of your mental health and the fine balance between feeling well and unwell.

The good news is many health plans now let you claim back on mental wellbeing expenses. Benefits can include; costs of mindfulness courses, nutritionist dietitian visits, costs of flu and travel vaccines, access to stress management helplines and access to Employee Assistance Programs including face-to-face visits.
