If you are satisfied with your result and would like us to go ahead and file your return with Revenue, simply:
Where the return has been issued using DocuSign - Complete the DocuSign signature requirements and the return will automatically be returned to us for filing.
Where received by Post - sign where indicated in the report and post back the signed documents to us using the Freepost address (no stamp necessary): Tax Return Service, Cornmarket, Christchurch Square, FREEPOST F3976, Dublin 8.
We send your file to Revenue and they, in turn, send you a statement of liability (Formerly known as P21) if you have PAYE income. Revenue will send you a notice of assessment if you have rental income or are self-employed. They will then issue you with your tax refund directly (where applicable).
This happens if you are “jointly assessed”. Your spouse’s name is on the return as he/she is the assessable spouse. His/her name must go on all correspondence to and from Revenue. However, both of your details are included in the return and either of you can sign it.
If you have recently joined our service, please keep an eye out for communications detailing next steps by email and SMS.
If you have used "MyAccount" or "ROS" with Revenue before, you will need to approve Cornmarket as your new tax agent. Following this, you'll need to complete a tax return form. We'll send you an email explaining what's required.
Head over to www.cornmarket.ie/tax-existing for supporting documents and videos!
Preliminary tax is an advance payment of your estimated tax bill for the current year. If you're self-employed or have non-PAYE income, it is a Revenue requirement that you must pay it by 31 October each year to avoid interest or penalties. It's usually based on your previous year's tax, and helps keep your tax payments up to date.
If you are self-assessed or have any non-PAYE income, your tax return is usually due to be filed and paid by 31 October each year. If certain conditions are met, you may get an extension to mid-November.
If you're only income is from PAYE, you may have up to 4 years to file your tax return and the deadline closes on 31st December each year. Please contact the tax team for queries specific to your circumstances.
All correspondence from Cornmarket's Tax team is issued to the policy holder based on the contact information provided when you signed up. However, if the tax returns also include your information, you can still contact us for any queries!
If you sell an asset between 1 January and 30 November, CGT must be paid by 15 December of the same year.
If you sell an asset in December, CGT must be paid by 31 January of the following year.
The CGT return must be filed by 31 October of the year after the asset is sold, even if no tax is due.
Please note: For PAYE Tax Returns: Following calculation of your tax return, if, based on the information you have provided we calculate that a refund is due, we will file your return automatically for you (we may contact you to obtain your approval before filing). If our calculation indicates that you owe money to Revenue we will request your approval to file your return. For Non-PAYE Tax Returns: We will only file a return after requesting your approval to do so.
